Since Highland is considered an 'open campus' with regard to lunch time, do we want to modify the lunch language to reflect the open campus rather than saying "all students will eat lunch at Highland High..."?

The Excel contract was terminated, as I recall shortly after year one (06-07). Excel no longer exists, as they sold their assets to a new company called Charter Solutions that has never had an association with SLSPA.
Most of the blocked section about Excel should be eliminated. Deb should be asked exactly what services the district provides. I believe that most of it is in the area of statistical reporting.
I believe the charter should stipulate that transportation is the responsibility of the students' parents. We may have to stipulate if there are exceptions for providing transportation for special education students, but I believe that most charters place the burden of transportation for all students on the parents. For liability, we may have to stipulate that SLSPA will contract with SLCSD transportation services for most field trips.
