Yes...agree with John. My point was that if we are going to mention experience and degrees in the requirements for a job...then we must be specific. For instance, if we want teaching experience we should specify how much or in a specific environment. If we want a specific degree then the level should be mentioned. AND...whatever we ultimately decide upon should be our minimum requirements...not our wish list for the dream candidate...but guidelines for a first pass through resumes.

Same comment on section 4 as on section 5. The grammatical tense needs to be the same in all job descriptions. My personal preference is the imperative tense (Work with teachers...) rather than present tense (works with teachers) but it at least needs to be consistent.
As a general response to comment 1, the board may need to ask themselves throughout the charter editing process how much the board wants to dictate specifics and how much they want to leave to the discretion of the search committee writing the job description in a search. I would suggest mentioning the essential degree and requirements and giving the search committee a bit of lattitude in determining the specifics of other certifications, teaching experiences, etc. It seems to me that writing a charter is comparable to writing the state core curriculum in a subject rather than the teacher's individual syllabus and lesson plan.

[Comment 1] We need to quantify how much teaching experience we are requiring.

[Comment 2] We need to specify what types of additional certifications, degrees, etc. that we are requiring.
